HYSEA launches Eclipse platform

Hyderabad , Nov. 8

THE Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA) has announced the formation of Hyderabad Eclipse Developers Group (HEDG), a technology initiative.

The HEDG would promote and enhance the adoption of Eclipse as a platform to build Java-based tools via sharing of experiences and perspectives around the Eclipse platform.

Eclipse (www.eclipse.org) is an open source tool platform, actively supported by several leading product companies in the world. Eclipse technology is widely used as a foundation for constructing and running integrated software-development tools.

According to HYSEA, Eclipse allows tool-builders to develop tools that integrate seamlessly with others. Tool developers can realise quick time-to-market and standardised user experience by building their tools using Eclipse technology.

Inaugurating the HEDG web site (www.hyd-eclipse.org) , Mr Kedarnath Udiyavar, President of HYSEA, said, "we believe HEDG will help our member-companies to not only make use of these popular tools but also develop their own intellectual property around them."

Many leading software companies in Hyderabad are already working with Eclipse technology. Progress Software (India), Pramati Technologies, Yasu Technologies, Cordys, Virtusa, CA, SoftPro, SSA Global and Polaris Software Lab Limited are among those who are actively supporting the movement.
