Toyota Kirloskar rolls out 2 lakh cars

TOYOTA Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday said that it has produced 2 lakh vehicles from its factory near Bangalore.

A press statement from the company said while the production of the first lakh was achieved in four years (1999-2003), that of the second lakh was achieved in less than half that time (2003-2005). This has been the result of Toyota stepping up its production capacity at the Bidadi plant from 20,000 to 60,000 units last year.

Toyota Innova has registered sales of 27,000 units since its launch seven months ago. Toyota Corolla sold 6,155 units between January and September . Mr K.K. Swamy, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said: "With our increased dealership network , we hope to intensify sales and marketing efforts to achieve further dominance in the Indian market."
