KIED complex to be opened at Kalamassery

THE State Industries Minister, Mr V.K. Ebrahim Kunju, will inaugurate the Kerala Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (KIED) complex at Kalamassery near here on Saturday.

The main objective of the Institute is to provide services for human resources development particularly in the field of entrepreneurship development with a view to enlarging the spirit of entrepreneurship among the people and to lead to more self-employment. The Institute has set up with an investment of Rs 225 lakh in an area of three acres.

Along with the inauguration, a state-level convention on Enterprising Kerala - Opportunities and Challenges will be held in the campus.

The activities of the Institute are to provide handholding and escort services to prospective entrepreneurs, which would enable them to generate self-employment. Some of the programmes included PMRY Training programmes, special central assistance for the development of women entrepreneurs, training for officials of Industries department, workshops, technology clinics.

KIED has been selected by the State Government as the implementing agency for the development and promotion of entrepreneurial activities among the youth in the State.
