Germplasm Day

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Dr M.V. Rao, former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), has sought the cooperation of the farming community in protecting germplasm of rice varieties. Addressing a meeting organised to mark the Germplasm Day here on Thursday, he asked the farmers to go for rice varieties and innovative methods that required less water. This was important keeping in mind the depleting water table.

The meeting was organised by the Directorate of Rice Research (DRR) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
