RBI's 2nd liquidity adjustment facility from tomorrow

RESERVE Bank of will operate a Second Liquidity Adjustment Facility (SLAF) with effect from November 28.

This is to fine tune the management of liquidity and in response to suggestions from the market participants, said a press release from RBI.

The SLAF auction would be conducted between 3 p.m. and 3.45 p.m., the press release said. The RBI Governor, Dr Y.V. Reddy, had spoken about the decision to introduce the SLAF during the Monetary Policy in October 2005.
