Bitter but ...

Consumers busy lapping up bitter gourd at a vegetable market in Kochi. With arrivals peaking, the vegetable's price has declined by nearly Rs 500 a quintal in the last one month. Currently, bitter gourd is quoted at around Rs 850. Consumers prefer bitter gourd for its medicinal properties. The vegetable is reported to be a blood purifier, digestion enhancer and stimulating agent of liver.
