Sunstar to invest Rs 19 cr in 2 years

RICE exporter Sunstar Overseas is planning an investment of Rs 19 crore in the next two years, said Mr Rakesh Aggarwal, Managing Director.

The investment will go towards strengthening the processing capacity, setting up a co-gen power plant of 1.2 MW capacity, procuring additional storage facility and office automation, he said.

The investment will be arranged through internal accruals and debt, said Mr Aggarwal.

While the co-gen power plant will be set up at the company's processing unit in Haryana, the storage facility will be somewhere near the Mundra port in Gujarat.The company will also focus more on the domestic branded rice market, said Mr Rohit Aggarwal, Joint Managing Director, Sunstar Overseas. In an estimated branded rice market of Rs 1,500 crore in the country, Sunstar is targeting a market share of five per cent in the next three years, he said.
