Definitive dumping duty on organic chemical proposed

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Dec. 3

THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has recommended imposition of definitive anti-dumping duty on imported organic chemical 1-Phenyl-3-Methyl-5-Pyrazolone from China.

The subject goods are used in dye and pharmaceutical companies for manufacture of Analgin, Solvent Dyes and Pigment Dyes and Pigment Orange 13.

In its notification, gazetted recently, the Authority held that the subject goods have entered the Indian market from China at prices less than their normal value in the domestic market of the exporting country. Hence the indigenous industry has suffered material injury with the injury being inflicted by both volume and price effect of dumped imports of the subject goods from China. Accordingly, the Authority has recommended anti-dumping duty of $1.218 per kg for the subject goods being exported from China or originating from that country.

The petition for seeking anti-dumping duty on the organic chemical was filed by Prima Chemicals and Polygon Chemicals, Ahmedabad.
