Airlines Marketing - Promotions & Offers Air-India announces introductory fares on Pune-Dubai sector Our Bureau
Mumbai , Dec. 4 AIR-INDIA, which has announced the launch of services on the Pune-Dubai sector effective December 12, has come up with introductory fares of Rs 5,475 (plus taxes) one-way and Rs 12,105 plus taxes for a return trip. The offer is valid for travel up to December 24. The thrice-weekly flight would be operated with a 201-seater A310 aircraft on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and will depart from Pune at 1515 hours, arriving in Dubai at 1655 hours. On the return leg, the flight will depart from Dubai at 1800 hours and arrive in Pune at 2225 hours (all local timings). According to an official statement, the new flight would provide the people of Pune and its neighbouring areas direct connectivity to Dubai. Passengers boarding or deplaning in Pune would be able to complete their immigration and customs formalities at their city airport. Air-India has expanded its route network by taking aircraft on dry-lease, pending the acquisition of new aircraft. It now operates 42 weekly services to Dubai, as against 25 weekly flights prior to April 2003. While Air India operates 28 of these flights to Dubai from Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram, Air India Express operates daily services to Dubai from Kochi and Kozhikode, the statement said. With the introduction of the new service, Pune will become Air India's 14th online station in India. It currently provides direct services from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram. Commences Haj operations: Meanwhile, the national carrier commenced its Haj 2006 operations on Saturday.It operated flights from Srinagar and Kozhikode to Jeddah, and from Jaipur and Kolkata to Medina, carrying over 1,100 passengers in all. Saudi Arabian Airlines also commenced its Haj operations on Saturday with services from Hyderabad, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. According to an official release, Air-India and Indian Airlines would together operate 135 single flights (each way), carrying over 40,000 Haj pilgrims from India to Saudi Arabia and back during this Haj season. Air India would operate direct charters with aircraft taken on wet lease on ACMI basis (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance). Indian Airlines, on the other hand, would use its own aircraft.
