IPE meet focuses on management information systems

THE Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), an autonomous, non-profit educational society, here has been ranked 36th among the B-schools in the country and eighth in South India, according to a survey done by Cosmode-Business World.

The IPE students organised MIS-SAMATHI '05, a quarterly event, which brings the industry and the academia on a common platform. The current meet focussed on the importance of management information systems (MIS) as a source of competitive advantage in the overall industrial development of the country.

Change management in IT, ERP Scope and Challenges and E-Security and Cyber Crimes were the three main topics on which experts from the industry and the academia shared their views.

The meet on Saturday was inaugurated by Mr Sunil Vasanthrao, senior Vice-President, Polaris Software Labs in Hyderabad. He emphasised the key factors of off-shoring and value addition spaces for the global IT market.

According to a press release from IPE, the chief guest at the valedictory session, Mr Dakshina Murthy, General Manager, Wipro Technologies, highlighted the importance of quality production in the present era of highly volatile environment.
