Mumbai , Dec. 7 OILMEAL exports increased 16 per cent during the April-November period of the current fiscal to 18,22,425 tonnes from 15,74,306 tonnes during the corresponding period a year ago. Exports in November rose 49 per cent to 3,21,692 tonnes (2,15,620 tonnes) , according to data compiled by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India(SEAI). During April-November, soyabean meal exports increased to 11,48,825 tonnes (9,82,575 tonnes), while rapeseed meal declined to 3,94,100 tonnes (4,28,425 tonnes). Groundnut meal exports were lower at 77,200 tonnes (1,05,525 tonnes). . Rice bran exports revived after long time and were reported at 53,950 tonnes (29,131 tonnes). Castorseed meal exports jumped to 1,48,350 tonnes from 28,650 tonnes, mainly shipped to Taiwan, South Korea and also Vietnam and Thailand for organic fertiliser. The exports were much lower in April and May as compared to last year, mainly due to lower crushing margin and production. However, with improvement in crushing margin, the production stepped up leading to revival of exports and also fresh demand from Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam, following SEAI delegation's visit in August, said Mr B.V. Mehta, Executive Director of the association, in a release. Exports from Kandla were reported at 11,43,400 tonnes
