Costly nuts?

A vendor selling fried cashewnuts in Thrissur, Kerala. Cashewnut prices are likely to rise as raw cashewnut production in the country could decline by 30 per cent. Rains have adversely affected the flowering of the plantations in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra which make up 60 per cent of the total cashew acreage and produce three lakh tonnes of raw nuts.
