Spot rubber gains on global trends

SPOT rubber resumed the uptrend on Friday.

The sentiments turned extremely bullish inspired by sharp gains in the international markets.

Sellers stayed away taking advantage of the situation, while covering groups offered better quotes to procure the narrow arrivals.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 68.75 and Rs 68.50 respectively at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 68.25 a kg on Thursday.

The NMCE rubber futures maintained a firm trend, quoting the December contract at Rs 68.50 (Rs 68.07), January at Rs 69.50 (Rs 68.97), February at Rs 70.75 (Rs 70.07), and March at Rs 70.99 (Rs 70.60) per kg for RSS 4.

The December delivery contract for the grade was quoted at Rs 68 against Rs 67.90 a kg on the MCX.

The January futures for RSS 3 closed at 211.8 yen against 206.6 yen at TOCOM. Spot prices (a kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 68.75 (Rs 68.25); RSS-5: Rs 66.50 (Rs 66); Ungraded: Rs 64.50 (Rs 64); ISNR 20: Rs 66.25 (Rs 65.75); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 47 (Rs 46).
