Fanoos havoc

A farmer displaying paddy damaged by water-logging of his fields in Thanjavur district on Saturday. Heavy rains under the influence of cyclonic storm `Fanoos' have inundated many parts of Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts in Tamil Nadu.

The storm weakened into a deep depression and crossed the Tamil Nadu coast at Vedaranyam just before noon on Saturday.
