Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Hanuman, the animation film produced by Sahara One Motion Picture and Percept Picture Company, has reported over Rs 12 crore business. The film directed by V.G. Samant was released with 150 prints across the country.

"The response to Hanuman is fabulous and is becoming stronger every passing day. It started with first week collections averaging around 85 per cent and has picked up drastically,'' a press release quoting Mr Sandeep Bhargava, COO, Sahara One Motion Pictures, said. "At the end of the day it is very satisfying to see an investment like this succeed and we will surely consider other animation films because of this success,'' it further said.

Hanuman's average occupancy was 65 per cent approximately at city multiplexes around the country during the fourth week. Percept Picture Company is releasing the English version of the film in theatres across the country during the Christmas season. The Hindi version has done better than expected.

"One of the factors that contributed to Hanuman's success was the timing of the release during school vacations and I am sure the same will follow with the English version release during Christmas,'' a news release said quoting Mr Mahesh Ramanathan, COO, Percept Picture Company.
