Telecommunications `BSNL ignored by Centre' Our Bureau
Mr T. Ravindran and Mr T. N. Varghese, respectively President and Secretary, Kerala Circle, of the association, said here that employees would resist the Government move for disinvesting from the profit-making BSNL. Proposals to cut licence fee, approve Internet telephony and share BSNL buildings, lines and equipment were all part of a conspiracy to undermine BSNL and promote private sector companies. The office-bearers were speaking to newspersons on the eve of the first conference of the association that gets under way here on Friday and Saturday. The conference proposes to discuss problems faced by BSNL executives, including constraints on promotion and denial of other benefits.
