Siemens chooses Sterlite

PUNE: Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd, an integrated manufacturer of optical fibres and telecom cables, has announced that it has been awarded Preferred Supplier status by Siemens, Germany, one of the world's largest electronics and communication companies.

This follows a successful audit by Siemens of SOTL's optical fibre and optical fibre cable facilities in Aurangabad and Silvassa based on stringent international approval standards, and successful execution of orders to Siemens' satisfaction, a company statement said here on Monday.

The Preferred Supplier status by a major global telecommunication companies should act as a fillip to Sterlite Optical's growing export markets, the statement said.
