Bangalore , Dec. 24

WOCKHARDT Hospitals group has been signed up by US-based health insurer Cigna Insurance. The arrangement enables Cigna's covered members to access treatment at any of the six Wockhardt hospitals in the country, a release from Wockhardt said.

The pact covers the health plans under the Cigna International Expatriate Benefits. Cigna is said to be the world's largest provider of employer sponsored insurance plans for expat employees and their insured families. The pact will benefit Cigna's covered and travelling members to get medical treatment at Wockhardt group hospitals on a cashless system, the release said.

The Wockhardt Hospitals Group Vice-President, Mr Vishal Bali, said, "In a globally changing healthcare world, alliances of this nature are significant for international patients to access quality healthcare services in India." For Cigna, the association enhances its network in the region, said Mr Markus Zettner of Cigna.
