Ganesh Bank merger moves draw flak

Our Bureau

Coimbatore , Jan.12

THE proposed merger of Ganesh Bank of Kurundwad with a private sector bank has come under attack.

Besides questioning the haste with which the Reserve Bank of India has finalised the amalgamation scheme, the All India Bank Employees' Association has demanded its merger with a public sector bank.

Citing the collapse of 18 private sector banks in recent years, it has demanded a parliamentary probe into the failure of Ganesh Bank, instead of finalising the merger.
