HAIER, the Chinese home appliances and colour TV company, is aiming at a sales turnover of Rs 500-600 crore during the current (calendar) year against Rs 225 crore achieved during 2005.

At a press meet here on the occasion of opening an exclusive showroom, Mr Naveen Reddy, Assistant General Manager, South, said the company would spend Rs 40 crore during the current year on brand-building. "We have at present 30 showrooms in the country, three of them in Andhra Pradesh, and we want to take the number to 100 during the current year,'' he said.

He said the company could sell 7-lakh TV sets and achieve 2.68 per cent market share in a single year of operations and would touch the five per cent mark during the current year. "We have at present 16 models — both conventional and flat ones — in the market. A new range of plasma TVs will be introduced later this month,'' he said.
