Mergers & Acquisitions Genpact scouting for a couple of buys Our Bureau
Mr Pramod Bhasin
Kolkata , Jan 19 GENPACT, the new avatar of what was formerly GE Capital International Services, intends to make two acquisitions this year. The company was eyeing significant revenue growth this year, said Mr Pramod Bhasin, President & CEO. It would also recruit a sizeable number of personnel. While the details are yet to be worked out, Genpact hopes to identify potential acquisition candidates that can add to its strengths. The proposed investment remains unclear at this stage. The company, which hopes to cross the $ 1-billion mark in revenues by fiscal 2008 and have a large employee base, has begun catering to new customers in the banking and insurance sectors. Mr Bhasin, addressing CII's partnership summit in Kolkata on Thursday, referred to a recent acquisition by Genpact. ""M&A deals are about people to a very large extent, because HR issues assume great significance, ," Mr Bhasin said.
