Infrastructure AP Govt clears Aero Park plan Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan.19 THE Andhra Pradesh Government on Thursday cleared a proposal to locate an Aero Park and decided to invite expression of interest (EoI) for construction of a super mall and developing a leather park at Krishnapatnam. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, cleared a proposal to call for EoI to appoint a developer for an International Leather Park and the creation of infrastructure at Krishnapatnam in Nellore district. The project is to come up on a 489-acre site and expected to be completed within two years. The Planning Commission and the Centre have approved the leather park project and the Expenditure Finance Committee has recommended it to the Central Cabinet. The Centre would release Rs 29 crore in assistance for the Industrial Water and Central Effluent Treatment Plant and marine outfall in the leather park. The balance investment of Rs 164 crore would be raised by the developer of the project. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, Dr Reddy cleared a proposal of LIDCAP for development of 37 acres of land located at Darga Hussain Shahwali, Golconda Mandal, adjacent to the 120 feet Gachibowli Road. The site would be utilised for developing complexes integrated into the Cyberabad Civic Centre comprising Mall of Andhra Pradesh. This mall would be one of the largest in the country and serve as a regional hub for promoting cultural and social activities and support export promotion for SMEs. This will also feature hotels, restaurants and office complexes. The resources thus created would be utilised by LIDCAP for their training and developmental activities. The Singapore Government has evinced interest in constructing the super mall and the business district through their department of Building and Construction Authority. The National Building and Construction Corporation, a Government of India undertaking, has also submitted proposals. Both the agencies were requested to file expression of interest for the project. Dr Reddy has also cleared a proposal to establish Aero Space Park near the Defence Research and Development Organisation to facilitate the entrepreneurs to establish their manufacturing units. The Chief Minister cleared the proposal to establish the Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT) at Visakhapatnam. This will focus on training and consultancy in nano technology and precision instrumentation. In principle, the Chief Minister cleared the regularisation of allotment of land to the industrial units located in Industrial Estate, Balanagar, phase-I subject to certain guidelines. The Secretary Industries was directed to provide a separate Industrial Estate to help them relocate them in a spacious Industrial Park, Small Scale Industries Park at Kattedan in consultation with APIIC.
