Our Bureau

Chennai , Jan. 20

CARRIER India, the Indian arm of Carrier Corporation, has drawn up a marketing strategy to increase its share of the Indian air-conditioner and refrigeration markets.

Mr Vidu Kulkarni, Country Head and Managing Director, Carrier India, said that company is bullish on the Indian market, which was one of the hottest markets. In the current financial year, the company has invested about $1 million for the development of new products and another $ 1million for the expansion of its Gurgaon facility.

The company is also planning a multi-pronged promotion, which includes direct mailers, brand advertising, point of sale and retail, relationship marketing with key influencers such as architects and contractors. He, however, did not quantify the amount that the company would invest on promotions.

He said that 70 per cent of the Indian market requirements would be manufactured in India, while the remaining will be manufactured by Carrier affiliates in other parts of the world.
