Power Torrent Power net up 50 pc Our Bureau
Ahmedabad , Jan. 24 TORRENT Power AEC Ltd has announced that its net profit for the third quarter of the current financial year has increased nearly 50 per cent at Rs 25.65 crore. The Ahmedabad-based power utility had reported a net profit of Rs 17.13 crore in the October-December quarter of 2004-05. Torrent's income from operations in the quarter under review was up by about 8 per cent at Rs 337.31 crore compared to Rs 312.48 crore in the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, Torrent announced that it has appointed separate committees of its directors to undertake a study to work out a new business model for the three separate group entities engaged in the power generation and distribution business. "We have set up these committees to understand, analyse and evolve a suitable business model to address our objectives of ensuring operational efficiency," the Torrent Power AEC Executive Director, Mr Ashok Modi, told Business Line.
