Private Banks CSB scheme for students Our Correspondent
KOTTAYAM: Catholic Syrian Bank Ltd (CSB) has launched a new scheme entitled `CSB Students Support Saving Scheme'. Under the new scheme, students can open SB accounts at all branches of the bank with zero balance. ATM cards also would be issued free of charge, according to Mr K.K. Vivekanandan, Zonal Manager, CSB Kottayam. Students of recognised/reputed schools from standard IX onwards including students of regular and professional colleges are eligible to open accounts. Accounts can be opened without any remittance and there will be no stipulation regarding the minimum balance. The scheme is introduced in seven centres simultaneously. Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi are the centres outside Kerala. The intention is to attract the student community to the new generation banks and create a saving mentality among them. Rev.Fr. Mathew Chandrankunnel, Executive Editor, Deepika, formally launched the scheme at Kottayam. Mr Vivekanandan presided.
