New Delhi , Jan. 27

SWISS luxury watch maker Omega SA on Friday said it would open 10 exclusive boutiques in India by the end of the current year.

"Last year our growth was fabulous and we hope to maintain the high rate of growth. We hope to grow at a minimum of 20 per cent this year," said Mr Raynald Aeschlimann, Vice-President and International Sales Director, Omega SA.

On the Government's recent decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in single brand retail, Mr Aeschlimann said this would further "accelerate our company's initiatives and help us open more exclusive boutiques in prestigious cities in India."

Opening the first exclusive Omega outlet in the Capital and the fifth in the country, Mr Aeschlimann said the last five years in India had been very good for the company.

He also revealed that Omega was in talks to sign a new brand ambassador and would be signing on a "male celebrity" soon.

Film actress Sonali Bendre, who inaugurated the outlet, is already the Omega brand ambassador in India. Omega is part of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch-making group.
