Lockheed Martin keen on tie-ups

THE US-based aerospace major, Lockheed Martin will be meeting with Indian industry during the Defexpo India Trade show to discuss the potential of working together on a variety of initiatives including the F-16 and P-3 programme, senior officials said here on Monday.

Addressing a press conference, officials said that discussions would also involve other programmes that could satisfy the future Indian national security requirements and lead to mutually beneficial relationship with Indian companies that could be expanded on a global basis. The four-day exhibition opens here on Tuesday.

"We are hopeful of finding Indian industry partners as the relationship between Indian and the US Government continues to grow," the Senior Vice-President, Corporate Business Development, Mr Bob Trice, said.
