Edible oils rule weak on lack of buying, fresh offerings

Mumbai: Major edible oils prices ruled weak on the local edible oils market on Tuesday in the absence of sustained buying amid fresh offerings. Imported refined soya oil was down Re 1 at Rs 339 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was steady at Rs 320 per 10 kg. Groundnut oil raw was down Rs 3 at Rs 430 per 10 kg following weak Gujarat advices. RBD palmolein was down Re 1 at Rs 358 per 10 kg.

Castor oil commercial grade was down Rs 2 at Rs 311 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castor seed April contracts were Rs 6 lower at Rs 1,457 per quintal.

Sugar moves higher

Mumbai: Sugar spot prices moved up sharply at the Vashi wholesale market on some continued buying supported by reduced inflows.

Small grade (S-30) was up Rs 15 at Rs 1,891-1,951 a quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was up Rs 22 at Rs 1,930-1,995 a quintal over previous close.
