New Products & Services Logistics - Software TMT tool to track consignments Our Bureau
BANGALORE: Taco MobiApps Telematics (TMT) has launched a consignment tracking solution for the logistics industry. The company's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Praveen Gupta, told news persons that the consignment tracking solution will provide real time visibility of consignments to the entire value chain by integrating their ERP/back-end with the information available on the Tracko (fleet management and vehicle tracking system) server. TMT uses GSM, GPRS, CDMA and other terrestrial networks to maintain the necessary hardware, software and Web/mobile phone services. Mr Gupta said through the use of vehicle telematics system, the location of the vehicle and consignments could be tracked. It can also collate and record information such as unscheduled stops, off route movement and over speeding. This information is relayed back to the control room and can be accessed through various applications. The cost of the hardware ranges between Rs 6,000 and Rs 14,000.
