Alliances & Joint Ventures PSI Data teams up with Lawson Our Bureau
Bangalore , Feb. 3 PSI Data Systems Ltd, the information technology business of the Aditya Birla group, has announced a partnership, which will expand St Paul, Minnesota-based Lawson Software's solution and meet the emerging demands of the retail industry. The scope of the project involves migrating Lawson's retail applications to the J2EE platform, to enhance performance, improve interoperability and lower total cost of ownership for clients. This initiative with PSI will strengthen Lawson Software's merchandising software solution to provide greater value to its global clients, said a company release. The product's thin-client architecture based on Java/J2EE technology platform will enable retailers to install and support the software in one location while offering access to users from any PC with an Internet connection. It will also enable retailers with geographically distributed operations to reduce overall IT costs by performing Web-based maintenance and upgrades. As Lawson's business partner, PSI will manage the technology upgrades for the next-generation retail operations software, said Mr Sampath Iyengar, CEO, PSI Data Systems.
