Kerala Budget: Sales tax dept computerisation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An allocation of Rs 10 crore has been made for computerisation of the Sales Tax Department.

This will be used for procurement of computers, networking of offices and check posts and for data entry of 70,000 returns filed by assesses every month.

Coastal protection and procurement of modern machinery thereof have been allocated Rs 43.75 crore, inclusive of the Central share.
