Pharma products may have Hindi labels

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Feb. 10

PHARMACEUTICAL companies may just have to change their packaging with the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers asking them to label the products in Hindi and English.

The Ministry has already written letters to various industry bodies asking them whether or not it would be feasible to print labels in two languages.

According to sources, "One of the reasons this is being done is because Hindi is a national language and is known to a majority of people across the country. Currently, labels are printed only in English and the common man may not be able to read the same."
