Artisans' meet in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: The State conference of the Artisans' Federation of India (AFI) will be held at CSI Retreat Centre, Kottayam on Friday and Saturday.

The Federation aims at safeguarding the interests of more than 15 crore of the traditional labour community belonging to the unorganised sector.

Among other things, the Federation demands a separate Ministry to redress the grievances of the community and allot separate funds for their welfare activities in the State and Central Budgets. The participants of the two-day meet include Mr Ram Asray Viswakarma, Education Minister, Uttar Pradesh, national level leaders of the AFI, Viswakarma MPs, MLAs, IAS, IPS Officers, said Mr K. Sivadasan, President of the Federation.
