Alden to step up presence in medical transcription

ALDEN Prepress Services Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alden Group, UK, is widening its presence in medical transcription.

Mr William Alden, Managing Director, Alden Group, told mediapersons here on Saturday that the company expects a major growth for medical transcription services by hospitals in the UK. After the US, the UK is the next major market.

Alden will recruit over 200 workers in Chennai to meet the growing demand. It now has over 20 employees catering to the US hospitals over the last one year, he said.

UK hospitals are cutting administrative costs and in the last six weeks three large tenders have been announced. The company plans to position itself to address this growing demand.

Alden Prepress was recently accredited with the international standard - Investors in People.

Alden Prepress provides value-added editorial and pre-press services in Chennai, where it employs over 420 workers. It also has a unit in Tiruchi with 80 employees. The company caters to publishers in the academic segment across Europe and the US. Alden is also into data conversion and software development services. Alden Group has a turnover of £14 million of which its Indian operations generate £4 million. Its operations in India have doubled in the last five years.
