IBM, Visvesvaraya varsity tie up

BANGALORE: IBM India and Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) have signed a memorandum of association that will enable IBM employees pursue M.Tech programme in computer science in Karnataka.

Mr Harish Grama, Vice-President, IBM India Software Lab, said the VTU-IBM initiative would help in strengthening the technical capability of IBM employees. The three-year M.Tech in Computer Science will have one complete year of project work and a few industry-specific elective subjects. Besides faculty of VTU, some subject experts will be drawn from IITs and IISc and from the IT industry. Classes will be held at the Bangalore Institute of Technology over weekends.
