Hyderabad, March 9

Saamya Biotech (India) Ltd (SBIL) has signed a pact with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT). Under the agreement, IICT would provide the SBIL with required facilities for the indigenisation of the technology the company got from its Italian collaborator, the Biofin Laboratories.

The Italian company had agreed to give technology to SBIL for the manufacture of some biopharmaceuticals involving microbial fermentations. "The pact with the IICT would help us save time in absorbing the Italian technology," Dr Y. Manivardhan Reddy, Managing Director of SBIL, said here in a press release.
