Canoro working on Amguri block plan

Our Bureau

Kolkata, March 8

Canoro Resources has completed its re-entry programme at the old wells in Amguri block and is nearing finalisation of a development programme for the entire block. Amguri is an old block once abandoned by ONGC. Canoro holds 60 per cent operating interest in the block and the rest is held by Assam Co. According to a Canoro release, three 30-year wells were tested during the re-entry programme. The ongoing 3D seismic survey is nearly 50 per cent through and was expected to be completed later this month.

Based on the findings of the seismic survey, Canoro would submit a development plan for the entire block for approval of the Union Government and its (Canoro) Assam Co. The company expects to commence drilling of two to four development wells in the next dry season of October 2006 to April 2007.
