TMB hikes NRE, FCNR rates

Madurai, March 12

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) has hiked the interest rates on NRE (Non-Resident External) term deposits by 20 basis points to 5.90 per cent from 5.70 per cent.

The rate hike has been uniform for all the maturity periods between one year and three years.

The bank has also hiked the interest rates on Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) term deposits with effect from March 1 and has introduced deposits in Australian dollar also.

The bank has hiked the interest rate on FCNR (B) deposits for various maturity periods up to 19 basis points for dollar, 2 basis points for sterling, 13 basis points for Canadian dollar and 8 basis points for euro.
