Strategy States - Kerala Voltas plans to expand AC market share Our Bureau
Kochi , March 16 Voltas Ltd has launched an aggressive marketing strategy in Kerala this year to achieve a market share of 20 per cent, according to Mr K.D. Virmani, Senior General Manager, Unitary Products Business Group, Voltas Ltd. Kerala is one of the focus points for Voltas as the state's market for air-conditioners is growing over 50 per cent. Voltas, he said, is the number one brand in the State with a growth of 48 per cent, when the market had grown 15-20 per cent. Addressing reporters, he said that the south zone contributes 28 per cent of all-India sales and Kerala contributes 15 per cent of the south zone sales. The state's market size is about 60,000 in numbers or about Rs 120 crore, he added. Mr P.A. Nair, Regional Business Head, said that a majority of ATM centres as well as houseboats used Voltas air-conditioners. The company's geographical spread helped it attain the number-one brand in the State, he added.
