Coimbatore , March 17 BPL Mobile, one of the cellular phone service providers in Tamil Nadu, has announced reduction in ISD and STD call rates. While the cut in ISD rate is up to 55 per cent, the reduction in STD rates is by 25 paise on all STD rates of more than Rs 2.65 per minute. The cut in tariff would apply to both post paid and pre-paid plans and would apply across all plans. STD rate has been cut by 25 paise across all plans with tariff of more than Rs 2.65 per minute. In addition, the tariff under STD promotional packages has been reduced from Rs 2.25 per minute to Rs 2 per minute. But the standard BPL Mobile to BPL Mobile/Hutch STD promotional offer of Re. 1 per minute at a charge of Rs 25 per month would remain unchanged. Mr Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Executive Officer, BPL Mobile Cellular Ltd (Tamil Nadu circle) and Hutchison Essar (Chennai Circle) said the reduction in rates would allow customers to make more ISD and STD calls at cheaper rates.
