`Growers must contribute to rubber research'

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , March 19

The active participation of the rubber growers is an integral part of rubber research, according to Dr N.M. Mathew, Director Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII).

He was addressing the concluding session of a series of campaign meetings organised at different parts of the State with the co-operation of the Rubber Production Department and the rubber producers' societies as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the RRII.

The intention of the campaign is to collect the results of the experiments undertaken by individual growers at their farms. The knowledge gained as a result of the interaction with the growers would form the basis of the research programmes of RRII in future.
