Facility for importers to access US cos

Our Bureau

Mumbai, March 20

The US Commercial Service, the export promotion agency of the US Department of Commerce, has launched a `better-access sourcing' from America programme for Indian importers.

The programme enables importers to source their requirements in the US more effectively and efficiently.

The commercial section of the US Consulate in Mumbai and six other Indian cities concentrates on promoting exports from the US to India. It focuses on the needs of Indian importers by providing consultation and services. "It's a strong and effective programme that provides better access for Indian importers to US manufacturers and service providers," said Mr Jim Cunningham, Commercial Consul. "Importers have to email us and we will seek out their needs from the manufacturers and service providers in the US." The programme has been initially launched in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
