Bangalore , March 21

Emirates will kick off its recruitment process for cabin crew from Bangalore next month ahead of its eight-flights-a-week service to Bangalore from October 29.

The Dubai-based airline said its team would visit the city to pick `Bangaloreans' for select cabin crew slots. It has had similar exercises in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Goa.

Emirates' workforce of 28,500 includes 100 nationalities. Its Vice-President India and Nepal, Mr Salem Obaidalla, said, "Emirates has been recruiting cabin crew from India regularly and is very pleased with the high quality of applicants it receives from the country. Indian applicants in the past have demonstrated high calibre, confidence, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maturity and a positive attitude."

Those selected after interviews in April would be based in Dubai, and undergo a five-week training at the airline's aviation college.
