Belgian co bags ISRO order

Bangalore, March 22

Belgian company AMOS SA is to supply the third collimator to the ISRO Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad. The device is used in cameras on earth imaging satellites. The two signed a contract to this effect on Wednesday in the presence of Mr Jean-Claude Marcourt, Minister of Economy, Employment and Foreign Trade of Belgium's Walloon region, a release said. Dr Ram Rattan, Deputy Director, Sensor Department Area, Space Applications Centre, said, "The one meter diameter collimator will be used in testing cameras that are flown in Indian remote sensing satellites and in general purpose camera usage in space applications." Two earlier ones sourced from AMOS have been used in Cartosat-1 and Oceansat.
