Celebrity Fashions Ltd has acquired the trouser-making unit of Ambattur Clothing Ltd, situated in the Madras Export Processing Zone, for Rs 5 crore.

The unit, occupying 3.5 lakh sq ft of area and having 2,000 machines, will become Celebrity's property from April 1.

Celebrity Fashion has issued 8.75 per cent five lakh secured redeemable non-convertible debentures of Rs 100 each. The tenor of the debentures is 11 months, at the end of which Ambattur Clothing will receive Rs 5 crore and a quarterly interest at 8.75 per cent.
