Financial Services Marketing - Strategy States - Kerala Western Union to charge less for remittances from UAE Our Bureau
Kochi , April 6 Western Union, a provider of worldwide money transfer services, said has it reduced its charges to transfer money from UAE to Kerala as a special offer to expatriates from the State. Under this scheme, Western Union will charge a fee of 15 dirhams to transfer up to 8,500 dirhams to Kerala from UAE. Normally the company charges 25 dirhams, said Mr Anil Kapur, Managing Director, South Asia, Western Union. The new pricing is planned for only six months till September 30, Mr Kapur said at a press conference here. Western Union has agents in 2,000 locations across the State. It has tied with banks, Indian postal department and private institutions such as Muthoot Group and Popular Finance. Mr Kapur said Western Union plans to have agents in more places in Kerala, which is the largest receiver of remittances from expatriates in West Asia.
