Propart ties up with US co

The US-based $35-million Materials Handling Equipment Corporation (MHEC) has announced that it is partnering with Propart Solutions India Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based finance and accounting business process outsourcing company.

Under this partnership, a separate entity called Dealer Development Group (DDG) has been floated, wherein the Hyderabad company builds an ASP model to offer services on entire back-office operations to materials handling dealers in the US, the MHEC President and CEO, Mr Kellen Watkins, said here on Thursday.

Built on the backbone of SAP Business One, DDG has already helped MHEC achieve success through improved workflows and business process integration, Mr Watkins said.

Propart is currently handling the entire back-office operations of MHEC that include financial accounting & reporting, payroll services and tax services with the help of 10 resources under a two-year contract valued at $200,000. According to Mr Watkins, the DDG would target at addressing the needs of over 1,600 materials handling dealers in the US market.

The Propart CEO, Mr A.S. Durga Prasad, said his company would focus on mid-sized companies in the US and has set a target of offering services at around 30 materials handling dealers in the next 12 months. The company is currently negotiating with a couple of clients based out of Houston and Dallas. To effectively service the US clients, the company is planning to expand the capacity of its BPO centre capacity at Hyderabad to 60 from the existing 27, he said.
