Kolkata , April 11

South-Eastern Railway (SER), which loaded 85.90 million tonnes (mt) of originating traffic in 2005-06, has projected a target of 100 MT in the current fiscal.

Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the heritage SER headquarters buildings here, Mr V.K. Raina, General Manager, said: "We are somewhat like a batsman in his nervous eighties, with a well-earned century in sight."

Reminding the assembled SER staff and other members of the newly improvised motivational slogan of "Think 100", Mr Raina said: "We need to have faith in ourselves if new peaks have to be scaled in the coming months."

In 2005-06, SER generated record earnings of Rs 3,979 crore (Rs 3,030 crore) from originating freight traffic, registering a growth of 31 per cent over 2004-05.
