Bangalore , April 13

Logistics company Panalpina World Transport has tied up with Logiwiz Logistics to launch a logistics centre here.

Panalpina is also planning to invest between $3 million and $5 million in India for its expansion.

The company's Regional Chief Executive Officer, Mr Robert Timmerman, told newspersons here that the company plans to launch four more such facilities in the next two years.

The centre here is spread over 40,000 sq ft and houses technology that will bring services such as material handling equipment, selective pallet racking system and docking bays equipped to handle 20 ft and 40 ft trailers.

The company will also provide comprehensive insurance coverage for its employees.

Mr Timmerman said the new facility would benefit time sensitive industries such as IT, textile, auto, pharma and retail to organise their supply chain.
