Aluminium, copper stocks still bullish

Despite the negative bias on the markets' performance for the next few sessions, dealers are expecting some `bullish surprises' in the aluminium and copper sectors.

Dealers say that the prices of these metals have appreciated substantially. Copper and aluminium gained 2.22 per cent and 1.94 per cent respectively on the London Metal Exchange on Wednesday.

Even on Thursday, when the broader markets slipped, Hindalco closed in the green at Rs 191.90. Madras Aluiminium gained over 5 per cent to end at Rs 421.10.

Among the copper stocks, Hindustan Copper also closed with a 5-per cent gain at Rs 81.90.
